BT rant from a very unhappy customer

6 months ago I moved offices. Leaving Virgin Cable Broadband and being left with my only option – BT. Things go wrong – that is life, we accept it, it hurts but we move on as best we can. However BT have made me near suicidal! Never in my life have I experienced such lousy service, and lousy support – nothing I have ever paid for and even things I got for free has ever been so undervalued as BT.

So after 6 months of such unreliable hell – I needed to vent, so I here I am expressing my feelings towards what can only be described as the most imcompetent, unreliable, careless, inconsiderate, disgustingly ignorant & pathetic excuse for a business BT really is.

But worse than all that, the most amazing thing is – they never went bust years ago! Totally astounding, that it still exists in the world as a going business – Despite the untold miserable and unhappy customers and the untold posts on the web that loath BT as much as I do.

Can so many people really have no choice than to have BT?

If BT were a new invetion it would be the sinclair C5 – interesting, slightly quirky but a fad and a TOTAL failure! At least Clive knew when to give up on a bad idea!

If BT were a human they would be sentenced to life for the crimes they have commited against paying customers and the sheer misery they have given people!

So my message to whoever has the control of BT and is answerable to such a disgusting service – I hope you choke on your millions and you rot in hell! You are as low as scum and yes, take it personally because you have so much you could do – you have so much time to do it – you are aware of all the people who you could help, you could make a difference – but you choose not to and I guess that gets you off you Pitiful excuse for a human!

  • Ive had similar experiences with BT and totally agree with you. Customer service is virtually non existent and they tell you one thing and deny it later. Information given during a telephone conversation about charges were grossly different to the letter I received a few days later. Another call to them to be told `the advisor told you wrong, the amount stated in the letter letter is correct`. No apology for their error. Im in retail and if I treated my customers with the same attitude I would have been out of business years ago.

    To be fair, we had a fine service for 2 years (broadband & landline 2010-2012) until we moved house. Since the move we've had:
    – unexplained extra delay in getting internet service to new house
    – late bills leading to late payment charge
    – incomplete bills (no itemisation)
    – technical problem (shorting?) leading to 4 weeks without either phone or broadband
    – engineer failing to show up
    – promised refunds not materialising
    – utter refusal to give me an email address to complain to; phone or letter only allowed – both of which leave no record. (I have zero trust of BT now)

    Yeah I know, everyone warned me not to go with them; but as I said, before we moved there were no problems.

  • I whole heartedly agree Isobel, my partner and I have had exactly the same treatment. Fine when in the old house, apart from a few hiccups here and there but as soon as we moved house there's been no end to the issues. From being unable to book engineers on the right day, to having no products working in the house whatsoever (Telephone, Internet and TV) then when I asked to cancel as they are breach of contract they tell me I'm due them £430 in order to cancel. This company is a complete shambles and has made me lose the will to live.

  • it seems like only fools work for bt,we gave the dik heds 21 days notice we were moving and still had to wait another 27 days to have a working phone line and a week later its dead and some arse hole called libby barr sent us a bill i expect most of these idiots could not run a piss up in a brewery!!

  • I raised a complaint against BT online, i was issued with a complaints number and what they do now is phone me every day and when i answer they hang up, i managed to get through to BT and they told they had not been able to get a hold of me, what a joke their customer service is.
