O2 Home Phone now available

O2 has introduced home phone packages for its broadband customers. New customers are also able to take advantage of its broadband and home phone bundles. (Subject to having O2 Broadband and BT line) £9.50 including line rental

For £9.50 a month you can get free evening and weekend calls to landlines. And £12.50 a month will get you unlimited calls to landlines both in the UK and 20 international countries including the US, Australia, France and, er, the Cocos Islands. As with O2’s mobile packages you can also add bolt-ons such as call barring and caller display for a small charge.

Sally Cowdry, O2 managing director said customers will get “truly transparent and flexible pricing plans and convenient consolidated billing”.

TechWatch is reporting that O2 subsidiary BE will also be adding a home phone service to its broadband packages later this year.

Considering that a lot of people now rely on their mobile phones for phone calls and only have a landline to make broadband possible, we think it makes sense to have these two services under one banner.

Evening & Weekend package:

  • £9.50 per month
  • Includes line rental
  • Unlimited evening and weekend calls to UK landline

Anytime package:

  • £12.50 per month
  • Includes line rental
  • Unlimited anytime calls to UK landlines, 0845 and 0870 numbers
  • Unlimited landline calls to over 20 international destinations

12 month minimum term contract.

To take O2 Home Phone you’ll need to have a BT landline already installed at your property, so that we can switch you over. You’ll also need to pick one of O2 home broadband packages – we don’t offer O2 Home Phone on its own.

  1. A brilliant company and in my opinion have put BT to shame. O2 truly knows the meaning of Customer care. However it is shame they do not have a landline service. BT yet again hold the blade. After leaving BT after years my family been robbed by them i decided to say enough is enough. I left a little bill which is due and tried to make an arrangment with them to pay it back. Oh no BT says, you either pay up and even if we can arrange a payment we will charge you 25% of the balance and you will not be able to use any of your service with O2. In my case my balance is £70

Im so glad i left BT , they are really really nasty heartless pieces of work

  2. I HAVE JUST GONE WITH O2 THEY ARE EXCELLENT I WAS WITH BT WITCH IS RUBBISH THEY CON THEIR CUSTOMERS I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THEM MY MUM AND SISTERS ARE WITH THEM AND ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BEING CHARGED FOR MISS CALLS AND LOT MORE NEVER GO WITH BT IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU ALL MY FAMILY MEMBERS ARE GOING TO LEAVE THEM SO GOOD LUCK TO THEM I HOPE THEY CAN KEEP DOING BISNEES…………

  3. having been a longtime customer of BT for both broadband and phone line ,i decided 7 years ago to switch my phoneline to The Post Office, and keep my broadband with BT as i was not entirely unhappy with what i was getting
sept last year 2011 i asked for my contract to be discontinued as i had found another company and was switching to them, they in turn took three days to reply and to my supprise they asked would i like my package reduced to £13.00 per month inclusive of tax ,i agreed with this and knew i was getting a good deal for
option 3 broadband , so i accepted and in december BT rung my wife and said the contract was being cancelled unles i went with them with my phoneline and they would restore the deal but would also increase the deal costs to 13.25 plus vat for option 3 unlimited ,i was so angry with them and asked them why they where breaking the contract they said because i did not have my phoneline with them it was their policy that option 3 must include the line rental service as well , i explained i was happy with the post office and had been with the post office for 7 years why the change of policy ?
same answer no phoneline no deal, so i then found they took 29.95 from me at the end of november 2011 and now they charge me 26.95 per month for broadband only option 3 but no new wi fi receiver has been included so i am about to begin a court action as this breach of contract has really got me angry on the principle that a contract they have put in place i will be penalised and if i tried to cancel this new contract the cheek and blatant disreguard to my disabilities and need for my internet service has really got me so angry wether disabled or not makes not a blind bit of difference
